MBA

Applications for Levene graduate programs are considered on an on-going basis and in the order received. Apply as early as possible to ensure your application can be processed in time for your desired program start. Applications received after the deadline are considered but may not be processed in time for the desired entry point, or in time to obtain a student visa. Deadlines are:

  • March 1 for September start
  • July 1 for January start
  • October 1 for May start
  • June 1, 2018 (only) for fall start MBA Public Safety. 2019 application deadline is May 15.

Levene MBA applicants are admitted through the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) and must meet the following admission standards:

  • Four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum grade point average equivalent to Canadian 70%
  • Applicants are normally required to have at least three years full-time work experience
    • Experience must be obtained after completion of undergraduate degree
    • Internships, work placements and co-operative education placements are not accepted as work experience
  • A minimum GMAT score of 500 or GRE Equivalent is required (Post-Graduate Diploma students are not required to write an additional GMAT)
  • Applicants without an undergraduate degree in business must successfully completed the Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Foundations with a minimum GPA of 70% or achieve a minimum of 70% GPA in each of the following qualifying courses (or their equivalent):
    • BUS 210
    • BUS 250
    • BUS 260
    • BUS 285
    • BUS 288
    • BUS 290
    • ECON 201
    • ECON 202
    • STAT 100
    • plus one additional undergraduate course.
  • International applicants must submit proof of English proficiency if their language of instruction in their undergraduate degree was not English. (score cannot be older than 2 years):

    • CanTEST: 4.5 with No Band below 4.0
    • IELTS (Academic Version): 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band

Mid-Career option: A number of individuals with at least seven years suitable work experience, but who lack an undergraduate degree, may be admitted to the Levene MBA with Specializations. These individuals must meet the degree’s qualifying course requirements before beginning graduate courses, if they have not completed prior to acceptance, or the Levene Post Graduate Diploma. These qualifying course requirements are ten (10) undergraduate courses and the GMAT score of 500 or GRE equivalent. All qualifying courses must be passed with a grade no less than 70%. Qualifying students may be discontinued from the program if they receive one grad less than 70%. Individuals who plan to take qualifying courses should consult with a Graduate Advisor in the Faculty of Business Administration to choose suitable courses.  For more information, contact levene.advising@uregina.ca.

MBA Transfer Credit Policy Transfer credit policy allows up to nine credit hours to be transferred into the Levene MBA Program from other institutions. Courses being transferred must be approved in advance by the Faculty of Business Administration and the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Regina. Advanced standing is available to students with approved professional designation or post-secondary courses. See here for more details.

Executive MBA

Completed EMBA application deadline is May 15th to be considered for the late August intake.

Levene EMBA applicants are admitted through the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) and must meet the following admission standards:

  • Four-year undergraduate degree with a minimum grade point average equivalent to Canadian 70%
  • At least five years full-time, senior management or leadership work experience
    • Experience must be obtained after completion of undergraduate degree
    • Internships, work placements and co-operative education placements are not accepted as work experience
  • International applicants must submit proof of English proficiency if their language of instruction in their undergraduate degree was not English. (score cannot be older than 2 years):
    • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL): 70
    • CanTEST: 4.5 with No Band below 4.0
    • IELTS (Academic Version): 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band
    • MELAB: 85
    • PTE Academic:59

Mid-Career option: Management professionals who do not meet the required GPA or those who do not have an undergraduate degree, but who have a minimum of eight to ten years senior management work experience may qualify for the mid-career option. M.Admin

  • Applicants must have successfully completed all applicable qualifying courses (or their equivalent) with at least 70% in each course. Each Master Certificate has its own set of qualifying courses:
    Human Resource Management: Any 10 qualifying undergraduate courses
    Organizational Leadership: Any 10 qualifying undergraduate courses
    Project Management:

    • STAT 100 Elementary Statistics for Applications or equivalent
    • BUS 285 Introduction to Financial Accounting or equivalent
    • BUS 290 Introduction to Finance or equivalent
    • Seven additional qualifying undergraduate course

Mid-Career option: Management professionals who do not meet the required GPA or those who do not have an undergraduate degree, but who have a minimum of seven years suitable work experience and have completed any 10 undergraduate courses with a grade of no less than 70% in each may qualify for the mid-career option. Laddering Into Master Degree Program: Students who wish to complete one of our Master degree programs after completing a Master Certificate program must submit a new application and meet all admission requirements for their Master degree program of choice. These students may apply their Master Certificate courses to the following Levene graduate degree programs: M. Admin Leadership, MHRM, and MBA in General Management. Students may concurrently hold a Master Certificate and Master degree, using the same courses for both credentials. This means that a student can earn a Master Certificate, apply for entry and be accepted into the MHRM, M. Admin Leadership, or MBA General Management program, then take the additional courses required to earn their graduate degree.

Post-Graduate Diploma

Applications received after the deadline are considered but may not be processed in time for the desired entry point, or in time to obtain a student visa. Deadlines are:

  • March 1 for September start

Laddering Into MBA program Students who wish to enter into our Master of Business Administration Program after completing the Post Graduate Diploma must submit a new application. All documents submitted with initial application will be kept on file, however recommendation letters will expire after two years. When laddering into a Levene MBA program, contact levene.advising@uregina.ca to waive your new application fee! Students may concurrently hold a Post Graduate Diploma and Master degree.

MSc in Organizational Studies

The Levene MSc program starts once each year, in September. Applications are considered on an ongoing basis, but to ensure your application can be processed in time for your desired start year, prospective students are encouraged to submit completed applications by March 1.
IMPORTANT: In advance of applying, prospective students *must* have a faculty member who has agreed to supervise their research. Applications without a confirmed faculty advisor will not be processed. It is the prospective student’s responsibility to find a suitable advisor prior to applying to the program.
Applicants must meet the entrance requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and additional requirements:

  1. Applicants are normally required to have completed a four-year undergraduate degree with an acceptable grade point average equivalent to Canadian 80%.
  2. A minimum GMAT score of 600 or equivalent GRE score is normally required.
  3. Applicants are normally required to have successfully completed (with a minimum grade of 70%) the following undergraduate courses (or their equivalents) within five years of applying: BUS 260 (Introduction to Organizational Behavior) or PSYC 220 (Social Psychology), STAT 200 or STAT 160 (Introductory Statistics), and an upper year advanced statistics and/or research methods course (e.g., PSYC 405, BUS 413, STAT 354, SOC 404, etc.).
  4. Applicants must submit a Letter of Interest where they must specify a member of faculty who has agreed to work with them during their program.
  5. International applicants must submit proof of English proficiency if their language of instruction in their undergraduate degree was not English. (score cannot be older than 2 years):

International Students

  1. Application forms are submitted online to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research(FGSR). The application must include your CV and a personal statement. A 100.00 CAD non-refundable application fee is required. More information regarding the online application process can be found here.
  2. In addition to your online application, the following must be submitted to FGSR:
  • Two (2) Confidential Recommendation forms sent directly to FGSR by your referee. Please refer to the FGSR website for important details.
  • Sealed official transcripts from all former post-secondary institutions attended by the applicant. Transcripts must be sent directly to FGSR by your former institution(s). Envelopes must bear an official institutional stamp across the seal. Transcripts in any language other than English or French must be accompanied by a certified literal translation.
  • Official results of the applicant’s GMAT Exam (for applicable MBA programs)
  • International applicants must submit proof of English proficiency if their language of instruction in their undergraduate degree was not English. (score cannot be older than 2 years):
